I just got this from our Kadima mailing list:
Northwest Detention Center Resistance, a group that Kadima has committed to actively support in their work against detention, is putting on the Solidarity Day at the detention center in Tacoma (1623 East J St) today from 1:30-4pm. ...I’d love you to join me. Carpools are meeting at Kadima at 12:30, or you can meet us in Tacoma. It’s visiting day there, where families will visit their loved ones, and the more families we can get there to show the folks inside that they are not alone, the better. It’s definitely a kid-friendly event. Bring snacks, food, water, blankets, posters/signs, etc. Details here. Shavua tov, M PS: For a powerful and beautiful history of Abolish ICE movement, check out this article. Hope to see you this afternoon!Kadima is a Seattle-based progressive Jewish congregation, that has been on the ground cooperating and supporting many social justice causes, recently first and foremost around the rights of people of color and immigrants (and not neglecting Israel-Palestine either).
If you’re up for a quick enlistment to action, and looking for a ride there, they will be delighted if you just show up at 12:30: 832 32nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. Otherwise just try to make your way to Tacoma before 4. There’s still time...
In the name of speed I won’t add too much onto this message. Towards the end of yesterday’s Seatac rally, a list of daily action events taking place all week was mentioned. I will find it and post in a follow-up diary.
